- Delivery of a comprehensive pediatric medical program; providing curative care provided
by community clinic systems, preventative care through community outreach, education
through both, and environmental improvement via association with agencies's and organizations
of expertise.
- Reliance upon the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) strategies that
focus on the well-being of the whole child. The three main components include:
A. Improving case management skills of health care staff
B. Improving overall health systems
C. Improving family and community health practices
- Commitment to humble service - data driven.
- Collaboration with the Haitian government and health officials to assure compliance
and for the establishment of an interdependent relationship of mutual support and
benefit.
- Commitment and dedication to partnering with the community in program, planning,
development and implementation.
- Application of a fee-for-service model to preserve the dignity and respect of individuals
where no child, however, is turned away for a family’s inability to pay.
- Promise to provide other not-for-profit agencies and organizations with all aspects
of our program including blueprints, best practices manuals, education materials,
etc.
- Serve as a clearinghouse of data, resources and consultation to medical teams and
organization visiting the region of Port Salut so as to better target populations,
illnesses and treatment modalities, and avoid duplication of efforts.
- Offer of an outstanding opportunity for visiting medical generalists, specialist,
surgical staff and medical students to combine traditional medical approaches with
nontraditional community-based developing world practices.
